About

Birds by Rose is a recipe created from the ingredients of my love of birds and my love of art. Together they reflect a (hopefully) beautiful journey through my creative exploration of their shared characteristics: freedom, variety, beauty, charm and wisdom.

I find inspiration from almost everything. For this project, my creativity has been particularly influenced by: John James Audubon's beautiful Birds of America, art deco, cubism, aboriginal art, prints and patterns, poetry, nature and wildlife, flora and fauna, sunsets (and sunrises), mallards, roseate spoonbills and flamingos.

Thanks for stopping by :)

It’s been a while since posting but plenty going on behind the scenes. More birds to come soon, here’s some sketches in the meantime.

A set of birds inspired by some typography I found (a font called Otama).
The lowercase A inspired a single bird before evolving into a set of 3. More from these birds to come.
